"This is a patchwork technique using papers cut to the exact size of the patchwork pieces required. It is useful for shapes such as small hexagons and diamonds".

I have a plan to use up most of my fabric, the idea is to make a duvet cover to replace the ugly one we're using and it's all going to be done by hand using the English Paper Piecing technique or EPP for short. I'm using an hexagon template I found online and resized it so its a little larger than usual.
I'm doing this in stages: I print out a few hexagons, cut them and pin them to fabric, cut the fabric and tack both the fabric and the template together and store them in a shoe box. When the shoe box is full I'll start sewing them together by hand. This project is going to take time so I antecipate many evenings spent sewing in front of the TV watching episodes of Miss Marple, Poirot, etc.
